Michael Pollack is Executive Vice President of Government Operations at AST SpaceMobile, where he has led the company’s U.S. Government business initiatives since its founding in 2017. With more than 35 years of experience in the space and satellite communications industry, he brings deep expertise across National Security Space, Department of War and Intelligence Community satellite communications, and global satellite markets. Over the past decade, Michael has played a central role in expanding AST SpaceMobile’s government presence, leveraging a comprehensive understanding of both legacy and next-generation space technologies, including GEO and NGSO architectures, supply chain strategy, and customer engagement.
Michael began his career as a systems engineer supporting NASA’s Tracking and Data Relay Satellite (TDRS) constellation. He later spent more than ten years at Hughes, where he built and scaled business units serving the U.S. Government, Latin America, and Former Soviet Union satellite communications markets. In these roles, he delivered complex commercial satellite solutions and drove sustained revenue growth, even amid challenging economic conditions in regions including Russia, Brazil, Argentina, and the United States.
Following Hughes, Michael worked closely with the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), leading sales efforts for a private firm focused on standardizing satellite communications solutions for DoD applications. He subsequently joined UltiSat, an emerging satellite communications company, where he played a key leadership role in scaling the business. During his tenure, company revenue grew from $2 million to $50 million—representing 25x growth over five years—culminating in significant private equity investment and a successful exit.
Building on this track record, Michael founded The Traville Group, an advisory firm providing strategic guidance across the satellite and government communications sectors. This work ultimately led to his current leadership role at AST SpaceMobile. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Boston University and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University. He maintains an active TS/SCI clearance.
