John Reeves is the Vice President and Head of Space & Mission Systems at Viasat
Government, a global government and defense business, where his team is focused
on delivering operational capability to US and allied nations through resilient
communications, space situational awareness, advanced space networking, and dual-use commercial/government technologies.
John brings over 20 years of experience in strategic leadership across business operations, government affairs, defense, and national security.
Most recently, he served as Viasat’s Managing Director and Head of Corporate Global Affairs, where he led government relations and external affairs on a global scale. Prior to that, John led UK operations for Viasat Government.
Before joining Viasat in 2017, John served for nearly 15 years in United States Government, where he held multiple leadership positions focused on international affairs.
John serves on the World Space Week Association's Board of Directors and was a founding partner of the Silicon Valley Defense Group. He has a degree in Economics from the University of Chicago and was a member of the 2020 Stanford GSB Executive Leadership cohort.
