John Reeves serves as Vice President of Space & Mission Systems at Viasat Government, a global defense business, leading the SMS business as it enables US and allied capabilities through resilient communications, space situational awareness, advanced space networking, and dual-use commercial/government technologies. John leverages over 20 years of experience in strategic leadership across government affairs, business operations, defense, and national security. Most recently, he served as Viasat’s Managing Director of Corporate Global Affairs, where he led government relations and external affairs on a global scale. Prior to that, John led UK operations for Viasat’s government business and led VGOV’s Trusted Connections business unit. Before joining Viasat in 2017, John served nearly 15 years as a CIA Directorate of Operations officer, where he led multiple field offices and coordinated with leadership across 17 U.S. Government agencies on national security and foreign affairs policy. John also serves on the World Space Week Association's Board of Directors and is a founding partner of the Silicon Valley Defense Group. He has a degree in Economics from the University of Chicago, and was a member of the 2020 Stanford GSB Executive Leadership cohort.
