M. Geoffroy Beaudot joined the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs - Directorate of Defence of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in May 2016 to spearhead the development of the Defence Space domain. As the head of the SPACE Department at the Directorate of Defence, he oversees and manages key programs in this field, including the GOVSAT initiative and the MEO Global Services program in satellite communications, the LUXEOSys (Luxembourg Earth Observation System), and advancements in Space Situational Awareness (SSA).
M. Beaudot represents Luxembourg in various European and NATO space-related initiatives and is actively involved in numerous bilateral developments with Allied nations. As the Space Leader for Luxembourg Defence, he regularly advises the Minister of Defence and the Chief of Staff on strategic matters related to space and defence.
With over 20 years of experience in defense and space systems, Mr. Beaudot began his career in 1996 as an officer in the Belgian Ministry of Defence. He has held several key positions, including Head of a Network Supervision Team, Head of the SatCom Anchor Station, SatCom Program Manager, and Head of the Cell C³ Platforms Integration, where he managed critical ICT and satellite communication projects. He also gained significant operational expertise by leading the Operations and Training Department of a Communications and Information Systems Battalion. His expertise spans defense ICT systems, satellite communications, and international partnerships.
M. Beaudot is a graduate of the Royal Military Academy in Brussels, Belgium, where he earned a Master’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications. Born in 1978, he is married and the father of three children. Raised in Belgium, he is an avid sports enthusiast.
