Directorate General of the Armament (DGA) - France
Jean-Baptiste Paing is a brigadier general in the armament corps. A graduate of the École Polytechnique and the École Nationale Supérieure de l’Aéronautique et de l’Espace, he began his career at the Armament Electronics Center as an expert in space intelligence. He then held various positions within the DGA, including as architect of the CERES program and director of the MUSIS program. In 2019, he joined the Defense System Architecture Service to coordinate space and connectivity activities. Since 2022, he has been responsible for preparing military programs in various fields such as space, intelligence, cyber, and AI. Since late 2025, he has been deputy Program Executive Officer for C4ISR, space and cyber programs within the DGA, overseeing approximately 80 armament programs. He is a Knight of the Legion of Honor and a Knight of the National Order of Merit.
