After completion of his Msc degree in Aerospace Engineering at the Delft University of technology, Col Buijs joined the Royal Netherlands Air Force as a technical officer. In 2002 he graduated at the Empire Test Pilot School as a Flight Test Engineer and has been working on several flight test programs for the F-16. In 2009 LtCol Buijs moved to Edwards Air Force base as a team member of the Integrated Test Force for envelope expansion testing for the F35. In 2016 Col Buijs elevated his career into Space, and has been leading and growing the Space Organization of the Royal Netherlands Air and Space Force, resulting into the establishment of the RNLASF Space Command this summer. Col Buijs has the privilege of commanding this command.
