Hisdesat Servicios Estratégicos is a government satellite services operator to act in the areas of defence, security, intelligence and foreign affairs. Since 2005, has provided secure satellite communications, satellite Earth observation and satellite maritime traffic information (AIS) services to government agencies in different countries.
Hisdesat has an innovative generation of satellites that provides more flexibility and security to satellite communications providing ideal solutions for exclusively governmental clients, both in the military and civil areas.
Hisdesat will launch this year the two satellites of the SpainSat NG Programme into orbit. The SpainSat NG I & SpainSat NG II, the most advanced secure communications satellites in Europe and one of the most innovative in the world, will replace the current SpainSat and XTAR-EUR.
The SpainSat NG satellites incorporate technological innovations that place them at the forefront of secure communications and defence satellites worldwide.
They will be able to provide secure satellite communications with maximum protection against interference or other threats, including a high-altitude nuclear event, with maximum flexibility thanks to their real-time software-defined payload.
And the active X-band receiving antenna, designed by Airbus Defence & Space Spain, can offer the flexibility of 16 traditional antennas thanks to its electronic pointing system and beam hopping capability, which allows coverage to be adjusted in real time and with extreme precision.
SpainSat NG will be essential for the resilience of the communications of the Spanish Army Force, European Union, NATO and the rest of our allies.
Hisdesat is also the owner and operator of the PAZ satellite, with a very high-resolution synthetic aperture radar (SAR), which has been providing since 2018 accurate information for multiple applications from its polar orbit around Earth.
