Married with two children, Colonel Sylvain DEBARRE joined the Air Force Academy in 2001. He served at various air bases, maintaining Mirage 2000 fleet and studied engineering at SUPAERO University. Later, he was professor of propulsion and thermodynamics before becoming deputy commander of the Science and Humanities division at the Air Force Academy. In 2017, he joined Strategic Air Forces. He was second in command and then in command of the Specialized Support Squadron of the French Air Force Air Tankers. He completed War College training in Germany and was promoted to Colonel, becoming Director of NATO Space Center of Excellence in 2023.
