Dr Gustaf Winroth is the Deputy Head of Unit for Defence Technologies at the Directorate General for Defence Industry and Space, DG DEFIS. He is a part of the team implementing the European Defence Fund (EDF) and its predecessors, as well as the programme for ammunition production (ASAP) and the industrial reinforcement programme through common procurement, EDIRPA. He has previously worked in the Directorate General for Research and Innovation, working on consecutive research framework programmes with focus on industrial technologies. Prior to joining the European Commission, he was working in semiconductor research. He holds a PhD in Physics from University College London (UK), and a MSc in Applied Physics and Electrical Engineering from Linköping Institute of Technology in Sweden.
