Dr. Gabriele Rizzo is a passionate executive and professor with 17 years of experience in leading sophisticated foresight, research, and groundbreaking innovation for the largest organizations on the planet. He helps U.S. Space Force and NATO attain decisive advantage by accomplishing revolutionary Science and Technology, first. Dr. Rizzo has led foresight for 9 billion dollars of Public-Private Partnerships in the EU, 25 billion dollars of industrial R&D, and 1.2 trillion dollars of defense planning. In 2017, NATO honored Dr. Rizzo with the title of Member at Large for Strategic Foresight and Futures Studies — a title awarded, according to NATO, “only to world-class experts.” In 2022, UNESCO elected Dr. Rizzo as one of the 30 UNESCO Chairs worldwide in Futures Studies and Foresight, the youngest recipient ever. The UNESCO Chair is the highest honor in Futures Studies and Foresight, the equivalent of the Nobel Prize or the Fields Medal. Previously, Dr. Rizzo has served in the Cabinet of the Italian Defense Minister as the ministerial advisor for Strategic Futures and Foresight, as Director of Research at the University of Lausanne in Switzerland, and as Strategic Foresight Advisor to the Chief Scientist of the United States Air Force. In the private sector, he has worked foresight with Meta, Renault, Firmenich, atelier oï, and Leonardo. Dr. Rizzo holds a Ph.D. in String Theory and Astrophysics and postdoctoral education in Operator Algebras from the Italian National Institute for Advanced Mathematics (INdAM).
