Dennis Jones is President of the Jones Consulting Group, LLC. The consultancy provides advisory, business development and strategic planning services to remote sensing, geospatial, and aerospace companies as well as government organizations. The firm serves its clients by devising strategies and implementation plans to adopt commercial technology that create and sustain value in the national security and commercial sectors globally. The Jones Consulting Group also assists start-ups, small and mid-sized companies in obtaining financing or achieving early market adoption to extend their business in commercial and government markets. For the past two decades Mr. Jones has been an executive and leader in the development and applications of commercial space and geospatial technologies for defense, intelligence, security, and commercial purposes.
His diverse career has spanned both national security and business, providing clients access to opportunities and unique insight into the intersection of government and commercial enterprise. Mr. Jones is a former senior executive at HawkEye360, Saildrone, GeoEye, Space Imaging and The Aerospace Corporation. From 2007-2008, Mr. Jones was a Board Director at SPADAC, Inc., an early-stage geospatial services and software developer in Northern Virginia. He has also served in analytical and advisory positions in the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the Executive Office of the President Office of National Drug Control Policy. He also supported the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO)’s international cooperative activities as well as satellite imaging technology transfer deals to foreign allies. He advised the Office of the Secretary of Defense on cooperative space capabilities with key United States allies.
Mr. Jones is an expert in matching commercial space and geospatial technologies to government and commercial client requirements. He has led the introduction, adoption and successful use of new remote sensing and geospatial technologies in the global marketplace and has served as a trusted advisor to chief executives in government and business. He has consulted to and served on the advisory boards of GEOEYE (now Maxar), ICEYE Inc., Skybox Imaging (formerly part of Google, now Planet), BlackSky Inc., Applied Defense Solutions (now L3 Harris) and Chandah Space Technologies.
