Brig. Gen. Davide CIPELLETTI joined the Italian Air Force Academy in 1991. In 1996, he obtained the military pilot license at the Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training School and served in the Italian Combat Forces Command, taking part in the operational missions of the former Yugoslavia and Kosovo. In 2002, he was qualified as Experimental Test Pilot by the USAF Test Pilot School. He took command of the 72nd Helicopter Training Wing on July 2019 and qualified as Flight Instructor. After relinquishing this post on September 2021, he took over the command of the Italian Bilateral Support Mission in the Republic of Niger. In September 2022, he was appointed as Chief of the Space Policy Office at the Italian Defence Joint Head Quarters and, since December 2023, he has been nominated expert coordinator in support of the Italian Interministerial Committee for Space and Aerospace Policies and Italian representative of the Steering Committee for the multinational Combines Space Operations initiative. Brig. Gen. CIPELLETTI holds a degree in Aeronautical Sciences, one in Political Science and a master's degree in International Strategic-Military Studies. He is member of the Society of Experimental Test Pilots and has been awarded with several NATO and national medals, including the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.
