A graduate of the Naval Academy in 1983, Admiral Stanislas de la Motte chose the submarine forces and spent the first fifteen years on conventional submarines, SNAs, and SNLEs. In 1996, he took on the role of "energy" trainer for the SNA squadron. After attending the war college, he alternated between Parisian staff positions (EMA/FN), units (PACdG), and force staff positions (ESNA). From 2006 to 2011, he was in Paris, at the EMM in the Support office, at the EMA, at the CHEM/IHEDN, and from 2011 to 2014, in the office of the Minister of Defense. After two years in Brest as deputy ALFOST, he returned to the EMM, in charge of international relations, then nuclear affairs. In 2019, he was appointed Deputy Chief of the Navy. On August 1, 2022, he became IGAM, until his departure in June 2023. Since then, he has been the naval advisor to the CEO of Naval Group.
