Adriano Baptista has over 35 years of expertise in the IMINT and sectors, with a strong focus on defence and security. He is currently a Senior Advisor for Defence, Security, and Intelligence at European Space Imaging. Previously, he was the Head of the Operations Division at the European Union Satellite Centre (EU SatCen). In this role, Adriano was instrumental in managing and directing the centre’s operational activities, ensuring the delivery of high-quality geospatial intelligence to support Member States and the decision-making processes of the EU in the field of Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP). Adriano’s extensive career also includes 15 years as an officer in the Portuguese Air Force, where he served in various capacities, including Imagery Analyst, Aerial Photography Operator, and Intelligence Officer. He qualified as an Imagery Analyst at the Joint School of Photographic Interpretation (UK). He holds a Certificate in Geographic Information Systems from the University of West Florida (USA) and has completed the High-Level Course in Common Foreign and Security Policy at the European Security and Defence College.
