Rear Admiral Louis Tillier has been the Director of the European Union Satellite Centre (SatCen) since June 1, 2024. Appointed by the SatCen Board and confirmed by Josep Borrell, he previously served as SatCen's Deputy Director from September 2021. Tillier's naval career began in 1995, where he held key roles on various vessels and later specialised in Communication and Information Systems. He led the French Ship AGI Dupuy de Lôme, the Maritime Intelligence Center, and contributed to European space security. A War College alumnus and Knight of the French Legion of Honour, Tillier's expertise is vital for SatCen's leadership.
