Darrin Stewart is Director, Office of Space Partnerships, within the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), a position that he has held since July 2023. In this role, Mr. Stewart supports the Secretary of Defense, the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Space Policy, the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Space and Missile Defense, and other senior Defense leaders in formulating and implementing defense and security policies related to the space domain. His principal responsibility is to advance the Department's objectives in space through collaboration with and integration of external stakeholders, including international partners and allies, the commercial space sector, and the intelligence community, among others. Mr. Stewart began his career in OSD as a Presidential Management Fellow in 2010. Since then, he has focused on fostering bilateral and multilateral cooperation with U.S. partners and allies to address complex security challenges globally. His previous roles at the Department of Defense include serving as Director for the Office of Korean Affairs, Senior Country Director for the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland, and as a desk officer for Afghanistan, Israel, and the Palestinian Territories respectively. Mr. Stewart has twice received the Office of the Secretary of Defense Medal for Exceptional Civilian Service. Mr. Stewart holds a Master’s Degree in Political Management from The George Washington University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Mississippi State University
